This week is crawling by rather slowly and looks like a series of bad hair days. Hair fall is a dreaded thing to stick to and sometimes it feels just painful to be entangled in the same. I have an evident hair-fall issue caused by hard water in my apartment. Being someone who relies on shampoo and conditioner to take care of hair-fall, make my scalp fresh and nourish my dry ends; I am always in a look out for a good shampoo. Today I am reviewing Garnier Ultra Blends Royal Jelly and Lavender Shampoo and Conditioner . Read on to know if I ended up being Rapunzel or tangled with this new launch shampoo and conditioner from Garnier.
What Garnier Claims:
When hair is weak and fragile, it’s prone to hair fall. The Ultra Blends Paraben free formula blended with Lavender Essence & Royal Jelly is known to be rich in amino acids, vitamins and lipids that helps reinforce and strengthen hair. Discover hair that is strong and resists fall from the first wash.
My Take On Garnier Ultra Blends Royal Jelly and Lavender Shampoo and Conditioner:
The advertisement of this product is such that I could not miss it. As soon as I entered ‘health and glow’ store my eyes were searching for this product. The packaging of both the shampoo and conditioner is very attractive. I sniffed a little near the shampoo cap and found that the aroma reminded me of fresh lavender fields, much like Garnier has depicted in their advertisement.
Shampoo- Rs 55 for 75 ml
Cap of the shampoo bottle closes with a click and opens quiet easily without chipping my nail-polish. Consistency of the product is watery and light. As said earlier I love the smell of fresh lavender, however the main USP of this product is a paraben free formula. I think the smell might affect people who don’t like strong smell.
Shampoo spreads easily on hair and lathers well. In the shower my hair felt very soft while washing and my oily scalp was clean but not squeaky clean. I love the fact that this shampoo is Paraben free. However, it gave me a bad hair-fall for the first wash. After drying scalp was secreting oil right in the first day of wash, which was rather a turn off. Next wash, I was expecting the hair-fall to come down but it was as dreadful as the first one.
Conditioner- Rs 75 for 75 ml
Packaging of the conditioner is that of an inverted bottle. The smell of lavenders is a little less as in comparison to the shampoo. The consistency of the conditioner is creamy and not watery. It spreads easily on hair and softens the ends. I was expecting it to work instantly on my ends and it did. My hair-ends felt softer and became quiet manageable. After a day my hair felt a little heavier than usual after using this product. Hair-fall was evident but hair breakage was less, so I am guessing conditioner is true to it’s claims and prevents hair breakage.
I have used the conditioner with other shampoo and experienced no drastic hair-fall, so I am guessing the conditioner works fine for me. I have also noticed that there was no shine induced in my hair using both the shampoo and conditioner.
Pros for Garnier Ultra Blends Royal Jelly and Lavender Shampoo & Conditioner:
- Beautiful smell of shampoo and conditioner
- Both products softens hair
- Hair-ends look nourished with conditioner
- Less hair breakage with conditioner
- Manageable hair for a day
- Clean scalp
- Budget buy
- Paraben free
Cons for Garnier Ultra Blends Royal Jelly and Lavender Shampoo & Conditioner :
- Smell might affect sensitive noses
- Shampoo gives bad hair-fall
- Does not help with frizz
- Conditioner weighs down hair after a day
- Scalp is not squeaky clean
Final rating : 3 / 5
Final Word: Before trying this one I wanted to try all variants of this range, but now I am scared of hair-fall and might skip testing them. I feel the conditioner will work for most but if someone already has hair-fall issue, they would definitely want to skip it.
Hairy Fairy : Using Cold water at the end of shampoo and conditioner brings shine to hair.
